Doing Business In Yakama Nation
We’re committed to providing the most essential information, documents, and forms that will allow our vendors to do work here in the Yakama Nation.
Application Forms
Download required application forms below and submit completed forms to: economicdevelopment@yakama.com
This application is required for any business operating on or conducting business with the Yakama Nation, including vendors, contractors, and professional service providers. It collects business ownership, contact, and structural information, along with details on services offered and any regulated goods or hazardous materials involved. All business licenses expire December 31st and must be renewed annually, with applications submitted complete and accompanied by the required non-refundable fee.
This form is used to renew a Yakama Nation business license, as required under Revised Yakama Code (RYC 30.02) for all business activity within the Yakama Nation's boundaries. It requires applicants to update their business information and submit a non-refundable $205 payment to the Yakama Nation Department of Revenue.
Food Handlers Card: Applicants are not required to obtain a food handlers card from any specific location; a card issued by any certified provider is acceptable. A valid food handlers card must be submitted with the application, and the card must remain valid through the end of the event or bazaar. Cards that expire before the event must be renewed prior to submission.
Application Deadlines: Applications for vendor permits should be submitted at least 1–2 weeks before the applicable deadline to allow sufficient processing time (5–7 business days). Applications submitted after this window will require payment of a $10 expedite fee, which reduces processing time to 1–2 business days.
A food handler's card is required for anyone working with food in Yakima County and can be obtained either online or in person at the Yakima Health District office. Online testing includes a short video and exam, takes about 45 minutes, is available in multiple languages, and costs $10 (plus a 2% convenience fee for in-person credit card payments). In-person testing is available at 1210 Ahtanum Ridge Dr, Yakima, WA, Monday through Friday (with adjusted hours on Tuesday), and cardholders can also visit the office directly for testing during business hours.
